Shetland Photography - Northlink Ferry Crossing Rainbow
Pictured below is a dramatic image I took earlier in the summer of the MV Hrossey leaving Lerwick harbour en-route to Aberdeen.
The name Hrossey originates from the old Norse name for Orkney. The vessel was built in 2002 by Aker Finyards in Finland and was designed to withstand the demands of the North Sea. She is 125 metres long and has a capacity of 600 passengers as well as vehicles and freight.
