Elle's Charity Head Shave
Lerwick woman Elle Leslie had her head shaved in the town's Lounge Bar to raise money for Cancer Research, Macmillan Cancer Support and St Colomba's Hospice, Edinburgh.
Elle's family has benefited from these charities over the last few years. Her mother died last year at the St Colomba's Hospice and the staff there also from Macmillan Cancer Support helped support both her and the family.
Macmillan Cancer Support is still involved with Elle's family due to her sister's ongoing treatment in which she has lost her hair.
Elle said cancer had affected most people in some way so she felt the three charities were worth causes.
She said: "last year I competed in a triathlon for charity and I thought this year I would do something challenging in its own way. The plus side is it takes me half the time to get ready now.
"Elle said she wanted to thank all those who came along and donated so generously . At the last count she had raised £1,254.40 and there is still more coming in as her giving page is still open until November. If anyone wants to donate they can do so at www.virginmoneygiving.com/ElleLeslie.
