Marie & Peter's Unst Wedding

Congratulations to Marie and Peter who married in Unst last month. It was my second Unst wedding in a row where the ferries weren't running as scheduled, with bookings suspended, and I was extra glad that I always leave plenty of time to spare for travels! The reception was in full flow just as I had to leave to catch the ferry home, it would have been very easy to settle in for the night!

Memorable Photographic Moment: You'll notice that the first two images below are quite similar to each other - I couldn't choose which to include. I really enjoyed taking a completely uncluttered portrait of Marie, with natural light and her elegant outfit making for quite a regal feel. However, just a slight adjustment to location and composition to include some of the touches of Marie's mum's house adds character and a subtle touch of home to the portrait. Both styles certainly have their merit but I'm glad to have captured both.

Special mention must also go to peerie John who, despite sharing his 3rd birthday with the wedding day, was certainly not forgotten! Before the meals and speeches had begun, the wedding was paused for a mass happy birthday song from the guests - and we managed to catch a shot of John blowing out the all-important candles too!
