Digital Advent Calendar - Day 19
Today's tip is aimed at those with digital SLRs/Bridge cameras. In the pre-digital age then photographic special effects required a filter placed in front of the lens which took up extra room in the camera bag. Today most of these effects can be reproduced using programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. Nevertheless, one of the filters which is very hard to replicate in post-processing is the polariser filter. The polariser filter will add some extra punch to your images. The effect is strongest when the light source is at a 90-degree angle from the subject. The effect obtained will be to reduce glare and reflections. Furthermore, the filter will boost colour saturation in the sky.A polarising filter will be available from your local camera store. Look on the back of the lens cap for the filter thread size required.
